WHO IS ELIGIBLE:

Families, children and pregnant women, with varying incomes, depending on a variety of factors; people who are disabled or blind, at certain incomes; elderly people at certain incomes. Individuals must fill out a formal application in order to have eligibility determined.


PROGRAMS AVAILABLE
  • Medical Assistance (MA)
  • General Assistance Medical Care (GAMC)

Medical Assistance – Nationally called Medicaid, this program pays for necessary medical care for low-income families, children, pregnant women, people over 65, and people with disabilities. (click here for more information on Medical Assistance)

General Assistance Medical Care – pays for medical care for low-income Minnesotans who don't qualify for Medicaid or other state or federal health care programs — primarily low-income adults between the ages of 21 and 64 who do not have dependent children. (click here for more information on GAMC)
